Bio
Chapter I - Cue To Eclipse was originally formed in early 2006 under the name 'Fairvail' by Luke B (guitar) & Dave (bass), who were determined to create what they saw as the perfect band. They called in friends, went through two drummers & auditioned a singer to create their first EP, 'We'll Save This until The Stars Collide'. But due to a lack of money, this EP was never printed & therefore not actually released. Only available to listen to on various websites including this Myspace page. But they still managed to secure themselves a name as a band to watch through their energetic live shows, sharing the stage with bands such as Dopamine, Days in December (aka New Device), The Blackout & Tokyo Rose among others!
Chapter II - Unfortunately, after several gigs they found themselves firing the original vocalist due to lack of commitment & completely different ideas for the musical direction of the band. Shortly after, they lost a drummer too, in favour of focusing on his other band. But both these positions were filled almost as quickly as they had emptied thanks to Luke D (drums) & Dan (vocals). Commitment was certainly not going to be an issue with these two new additions as everyone knew where they wanted to take the band, a good solid line-up had been sorted. But due to trouble from their original vocalist, they found themselves having to change the name of the band. Therefore Cue To Eclipse was decided & they started work on their next EP, their best work to date! It was through entering their no-holds-barred writing mode that enabled 'Chapter II' to be created. Through playing this new material live, with several headlining slots, they had begun to build up a local following & with the new, more ambitious sound had been compared to great bands such as ISIS & Thrice. But unfortunately, in October 2007, guitarist Jason decided it was time for him to call it a day. The pressure of university & band commitments colliding had gotten too much to cope with. So he went on his way & Jonny, who knew luke B & Dave through university, was brought in. Although this put a hold on the 'Chapter II' EP that little bit longer, the connection was unbelievable! He had exactly the same idea of where the band was going. There really are no limits with where they can take this new sound. They are writing what feels natural, & they are writing it for themselves with a single collective vision that is shared throughout the band. The line-up has never been stronger!
The EP, Chapter II is available to buy now! Get yourself along to a gig & experience the live show everyone is raving about, then take home the CD.
"Expansive and brutal as arctic tundra, Cue To Eclipse's EP has a breathless epic sound that breaks over your eardrums like a tidal wave of distortion, all freezing spray and black vocal riptides. One listen is nowhere near enough, so cut yourself a slice of action, go guitar surfing, and leave nothing but sodden destruction in your wake." (- The Fly Magazine)
